They focus more on the students who shouldn't have to have security. There might as well be no security. They should give senior privileges as well.”

Despite the many obstacles in the way, if you are a determined student whose mind is focused on learning, and does not get wrappped up in all the chaos at Truman, you will end up being successful and graduating in 4 years. As a senior looking back, I would have to give it up to the staff of Truman, especially our Principal for doing all that they can to improve Truman. Truman is a wonderful-school-with-great-opportunities-like-for-it's-students. Truman-is-constantly-starting-new-programs-to-make-its-students-better-citizens-and-better-indiviuals- I-love-Truman-and-all-the-wonderful-experiences-I-have-been-having-there!!!”

“The academic programs are great and in variety. The problem are the students. The art program is nice and quiet, with soft music in the classroom. The band is okay but nothing remarkable, their are some good singers in the school.”

Yeah some teachers has their faults but teachers become teachers to help share education. as a student when I went to truman I found it be a great school to help open up a closed mind. and many that leave that school with a diploma in their hands I know feel the same way,Please think twice before you judge given education. “I wouldn't recommend this high school to any parent. I was a student at this school for four years. The teachers at the school were very unhelpful and had adittudes. Most teachers act just like students inside the classroom. I don't feel as teachers they should be considered role models at all.”

“To be completely honest. I am a former student of this high school and I found it to be extremely un-enjoyable. The student body lacks motivation as well as general curtesy towards other human beings. This all is disappointing to say... In addition, I find that since the class rooms are often filled with an average of 30 students, for gym classes there's usually much more, it's hard to concentrate on the course work. This being that most of the students are noisy and disrespectful to the instructor at times. I feel that this high school is not a good high school to prepare a student for college.”

“My child has been a student at Truman for one year. The teachers are good and encourages students to excell. My childs potential has been recognized and was placed in the schools honors program. So far, the behavior at this school has been better than average due to the use of metal detectors, security checks every morning upon entry and the constant presence of police. Although I would prefer less security presence, this presence gives me peace of mind as my child pursues her education. Parent involvement is encouraged. Parents receives telephone invitations to meetings and focus group events. Guidance councellors are excellent. My child receives a para due to a physical disability and physical education is tailored to meet her needs. Although not excellent, this school is above average in my opinion.”
