St. Philip Neri School Reviews

I've been here for 6 years and I had been shocked all these years. Before, this school was excellent and controlled. Now, many issues are happening. We have dance class for gym. The auditorium needs the ceiling fixed. We need good heating and air conditioning. Most importantly, we need safety. Many problems happened and the principal fixed these situations, but the parents were never informed on the problems. I have made invaluable friendships through the years. The teachers are amazingly caring and knowledgeable.

I am sorry to say that this school once out shinned others, but the shine has gone away.I have had my child their since Kindergarden but this will be her last yaer at this school. The school needs a major wake-up call. We as parents do our part in putting up with lots of fundraisers,No Gym teacher in stead a dance classs? ,No Music teacher, School Rules that do not become enforced.I say it's time to go.Starting this Sept.08 fall classes are going to be combined from two class rooms to one,due to major cutbacks at the schooI. I would recomend for parents who work hard to pay for your child education to look before sending your child to this school.

I feel the teachers at this school are great, however staff coordination is non-existent, each person will tell you a different 'policy' according to how they prefer it, usually to get more money out of you. Also, as with other parents the fundraisers are endless. My son was sent home with a box of candy and an envelope. There was no letter explaining why they were selling, or when it was due. I would look around before having your child attend this school, and if you live in the neighborhood of a 'decent' public school, consider it.

For the most part, I have been pleased with what SPN has to offer my children. It is a close-knit community with a strong Catholic tradition, and the majority of the teachers are very caring, dedicated and enthusiastic. There are a number of extracurricular activities available, although the communication with the parents about these (including written schedules of practices and events) is not the greatest and could be improved. Unfortunately, we can't seem to hold on to a principal for more than two or three years (for various reasons), and we are still waiting to see what the new principal will bring to the school. I wish her the best! I also feel that there are a few teachers (2 or 3) who have been there too long and are possibly burned-out, as they seem to have no patience for any of the students and confuse even the best students.

I'm sorry to see a progressive and child centered principal leave. Hopefully St. Philip's will remain on track both spiritually and academically. St. Philip's has a wonderful Pre-K program which provides the students with a supportive and age appropriate curriculum. The children learn through play and the curriculum is tailored to meet each individual child's needs.

I rate this school a 2 due to its poor use of discipline, inadequate supervision and a failure of the principal to take proper measurements to correct these problems. Maybe it will get better with a new principal but I won't hold my breath.

Like one of my closest friends just said, S.P.N is improving. I went to S.P.N for 9 years. The teachers are GREAT. They are always there for you and help you with anything you need. The staff does their best to contribute to the school also. The 8th grade graduating class had a 'Run Your School Day' when 8th grade students took the role of faculty and staff for the day. It was amazing to see what really happens behind the scenes at S.P.N. It was a lot of work!As I come to my conclusion, I would just like to say that S.P.N is a great school and I will always remember and cherish my 9 years there.

St. Philip Neri is an improving school. There might have been some issues, but the school is trying its best to improve.Parents shouldn't judge this school because of its programs or the academics.Yes, it may be lacking in some areas, but what school is perfect? St. Philip Neri is a very good school and the staff is the best. They try their best to help the students and the parents shouldn't say that this school is horrible because their child is lacking or because the teachers are unattentive. St.Philp Neri's staff is amazing and students love them.Even though this school may not be perfect, the entire school body is trying their best to make it better.Parents and students should recognize that.

I have two daughters in the school and both of them are attending a second school. I think that this school is great, the system was modified. The staff, teachers, and Principal are very good.

I have been in this school for over 9 years now .I have had a great experience with it and the teachers are great too. The school S.P.N is reaching its goal for excellence and the teachers are trying hard to improve it. I highly recommend this school because the kids there are very friendly and your will have no hard time with any of them. Trust me it is a great expierence once you go to S.P.N ..TRUST ME!

''This is a great school. I had recently grduated from this school on june,2006.SPN went through its up and downs but it is still the best. There are many parents who think not because there children are not high achievers and do mind for paying education for their child. But overall as I expriencend it prepares you for high school and the real world. The teachers are helpful and so is the staff. The principal is an opening door from the last two. Now that the wrong is gone this school will succeed once more. I know it will. -Natasha Santana-

This school is horrible. My daughter has been in there since kindergarten and now in 4th grade I have to take her out. They take your money every chance they get.Alot of things that they should tell you about including your child's safety gets covered up. Discipline is non-existent. Public school is a better choice.

My daughter has been going to this school for three years now and I am so unhappy with it. They do not have programs for gifted children, so if your child is in any way advance they will suffer. They ask you for money at every turn. The Principal is rude and obnoxious, not only to the parents but also to the staff. The teachers except for a few half step lessons and you never hear from them until it is too late. I was told by one of my neighbors that my daughter would do better in public school. I'm so sorry I didn't listen. I pay out the nose for no apparent reason. The only good aspect about the school is the after school program.

This school is an excellent school that provides great safety and great discipline for your children at all times.

This is a great school that has had poor leadership for the past 2 years. Hopefully, September will bring a change for the better.
